This theme suits boys of all ages and is very easy to create. Below are some ideas
Using balloons on their own or in clusters are a great way to decorate a room. A pirate gift bag can easily be transformed into a balloon weight by putting a heavy object in the bottom of the bag and place some black tissue paper on top. The balloons can then be tied to the handles of the bag.
Modelling balloons can be twisted into swords for your little pirates and black face paint is ideal for painting eye patches and pirate stubble!
Use black tablecloths and cut out simple skull & cross bone shapes which can be either scattered on the table or fixed easily in place with some spray adhesive. If you want to be a little more creative use a pale blue tablecloth and draw a giant treasure map complete with an X marks the spot.
Get creative with some cardboard boxes painted to look like treasure chests and fill them with ‘treasure’ for example you could use plastic jewellery that can be picked up cheaply at pound shops or chocolate coins.
For an easy game have a ‘Treasure Hunt’. Hide lots of little gifts or sweets around your venue and give clues as to where to find the prizes or draw treasure maps with picture clues.
